Life is not all sunshine and rainbows, as most adults know. Bills, family, work, and other things can get in the way of positive thinking. But does it always have to be gloomy? Not at all, and that is the idea that Beatriz Hernandez uses in her children’s book, The Rainbow Of Life.

Even though it is written for an audience outside of my age group, I found this read to be cute and delightful. The pictures featured many colorful backgrounds, and each picture had a short but sweet description for each color of the rainbow. I was surprised to learn that there is an additional color to the rainbow, making the total number of colors seven. For the sake of spoilers, I will not disclose what the color is; readers will just have to find out for themselves!

The part that I liked most about the book is the ease of understanding the author’s descriptions of the rainbow colors. There are only a few sentences for each, making them quick to read. In the background, there is a picture of children showing the action or idea that the color stands for. Readers can easily understand what each color means using these illustrations.

I did not find a single thing that I disliked in the book. All of the rainbow colors and their descriptions connected with each other, without any additional information that would make them difficult to understand. Since it is only ten pages in length, this a great choice for a children’s bedtime story.

There was not a single grammatical error in the Rainbow Of Life; it is perfect in every way. It is with great enthusiasm that I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I highly recommend it for those aged four to eight years old, with an adult reading it to the younger ages. There are no religious mentions or profanities at all, so readers have nothing to worry about when reading it.

I like it when children read books that are not just comic but didactic. This book tries to enlighten children about the reality of life, and I like it. Good job.

I agree with you 100%. Another children's book that I reviewed I felt was too complex and serious for the recommended age group. It is always good to do research about a book if a reader is unsure about it. Thank you for the wonderful comment! :D
