Although I appreciate the anti-bullying message of June's story, I'm concerned about the confusing change of the rhyming pattern, the less fluent flow of the story, the often depressing illustrations, and the difficult vocabulary. Thanks for an honest review!

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I also scored the book 3 out of 4 stars due the the change in the rhyming structure. However I would recommend the book to ages beyond 10 also.

This book deals with an important issue that most children deal with. I was a victim of bullying so I can relate to what June had to go through. Great review.

Important topics about bullying and friendship are presented in "Out Loud" by Luz Agudelo. The protagonist named June gets bullied during a school competition on the beach. When she runs to a hidden place, she and her new friend (Jonas) found a stranded seagull. Help! A big monster ambushed them.

Rhyme or not, I will check this book out.

Although I'm not a fan of children's book or comics, I'm glad that the book is engaging a very delicate subject in youngsters life. Hopefully, June will stand up to this bully! Thank you for your great review.

I think that books for children that treat very serious subjects are very interesting and educational.I like the idea of reading something on this matter written in rhymes.

Bullying denies children a right to exercise their freedom and right to a quality education. The perpetrators are often themselves victims of poor parenthood. I am glad this book brings out in the open the detrimental effects of this common occurrence in schools and homes. Nice review.

While standing up to bullies should be encouraged, I hope the book acknowledges that this can sometimes go sideways quickly. Great review!

I love that Out Loud exploits a simple yet important theme- bullying. A lot of children's books nowadays are built on fantasies and adventures without the kids actually learning anything. June is a model character. I hope the children learn a lot from it. It sounds like a really interesting book that every child should read.

Bullying is a relevant topic to write a book on. I will consider buying a copy for my nephews.
