Wow! This is a real hard one to figure out. There was a lot of pretending in nick and Amy’s marriage. Although I do think some of their love for each other was certainly expressed but a majority of their actions ( I thought anyway) were not real for each other

Initially, they had a pure and strong connection. But as their journey progressed cracks formed in that bond and there were too many flaws. I don't think a good marriage bond existed towards the end.

I can't talk for Amy because the ending and her diary and all of her actions makes me question her sanity. But for Nick I think he did love her but the marriage became difficult and they both kind of stopped trying. No one gave it their best effort it was easier to bow out than to actually work. But then again I can't say much about Amy because she is... definitely something.

I think because Amy was only acting, she must not have believed in the marriage. No one can build a relationship on a lie. I think ultimately Nick fell out of love once he realised she is not the woman he married. He was a fool who fell for her act.
