I read the sample and review of Growing up Carrie by Ed Massey. The emotions portrayed in the book seems genuine and comes naturally between Edward and Tammy. I am definitely get the full version to read the entire book.

Every now and then, a book comes along that reaches out and touches the soul. This sounds like one of those books! With its ability to generate a range of emotions, I don't think we will be forgetting these wonderfully developed characters for quite some time! I read the free sample that is available for today, January 26th, 2018. I would rate this preview a 3 out of 4 stars. The plot was definitely interesting, a gamer named Edward gets a mysterious message and... You'll have to read to find out! The idea itself had a lot of potential, however, the writing seemed a little sloppy to me. The characters seemed underdeveloped (from what I read) and I would definitely recommend the author work on how tone and word choice effects character consistency. Also, the dialogue seemed forced and I could not imagine another person talking in that way. That being said, the story does seem emotional, captivating, and overall worth a read in my opinion, if you can get past a few writing no-nos.

Growing Up Carrie By Ed Massey. This is my first book for this author. I read the description of the book and could relate on so many levels. I have been a single parent and one of my children met their spouse through online gaming as well.

It’s not always easy growing up with a step parent. I was lucky as where my children. I am looking forward to reading this book and seeing how the author puts the story together!
