It really does sound like something that could happen in an X-Men comic, doesn't it? Adam's thoughts about his mother being disturbing presents a question of if Adam is mentally healthy or not, but given the nature of the book and how it plays out, there's probably more at play, huh? Sorry for the rambling. Your review just presents a lot to think about.

I'm not sure if this is one I'll be reading even though I like the fact the characters seem realistic. My ideal read is not about superheroes and fantasy. Thanks for the great review.

Very interesting! Seems like this will get me hyped up and young again. I haven't read much about books with teen protagonists so I'm curious if I'm going to love this book just like the fantasy and supernatural teeny bopper books I've read ages ago.

You didn't find him just super angry all the time? I loved the story I just feel like its got too much going on. Yes, Carly saves him from himself but some of the plotlines kinda just drop off. Do they continue in the second book?

Thanks for a very insightful review! I am not a sci-fi fan but I am getting ready to start reading this one since it will be February's book of the month. After reading your review I now have some idea what the book is about before I delve into it. Thanks for the recommendation! :tiphat:

A nice book about a 16 year old protagonist. I like that the thoughts are very realistic. Thanks for the review
We're all philosophers. When there's a tough choice to be made, when faced with the facts of birth, love or death or simply when thinking about what we want to do with our lives.

Thank you for the review! It sounds a little little bit like I Am Number Four in its premise, but I'd really like to see what the author does in the execution of the writing.

Thanks for the heads up :)
Also there really isn't much swearing but much later in the book it does have a few words including the "F" word. Just another heads up. It's a good book.

I was interested to come read this review as it's going to be the February BOTM. I was shocked to see that both official reviews are either a 3/4 or 4/4, however, the overall score is a 2.8. To me, that shows some clearly didn't enjoy this. I might have to investigate further.
Great review! Enjoyed your perspective.
