"The Crown" by Kiera Cass is the last book in the Selection series and a perfect ending to the books. It explains a lot of questions one might have about Maxon's past and sums up the series. Although I prefer the story of Maxon's selection to Eadlyn's, it is still very interesting to see how Maxon and America are as parents, what their children are like, and what their life is like. Because America didn't grow up in the palace, she had an outsider view and it was interesting to see how it differed from Eadlyn's view of the palace and the royal family. It was also interesting to see how Maxon and America changed themselves and what changes they did for the country. "The Crown" has many amazing characters, a great plot, and is very well written. I would highly recommend this book to everyone looking for a good YA read.

I like the series but the "Crown" was a bit off as compared to the earlier books in my view.

This is so funny reading through everyone's shared opinion that Eadley was a much less likable character than America was-- because I felt the exact same way. The Crown did get me to like her more certainly as she grew up a bit more in this book.

:? When I first read this book, I didn’t understand the characters like Edelyn and her father and the queen being ill. The first thought I had in mind was, “ this is gonna be interesting” and when you actually read the book you dive in and feel like you’re in another world of princesses and kingdoms. I really enjoyed reading this book even though I didn’t read all if its series. I look forward to reading more from Kierra Cass! :techie-studyingbrown:

I'm so torn on this series; I read the first three years ago and really enjoyed them, and even though it was such a long time ago I feel like I remember most of the major plot points. When the Heir first came out, I read it immediately because of my love for the original trilogy, but I didn't enjoy the fourth installment nearly as much. The book didn't stick with me either, because I don't remember a single thing that happened. I'm ready to give up on this and simply accept that the 'sequel' series isn't for me and I just prefer the first three books, but this review makes me think that maybe I should give the Crown a chance, even if I have to reread the Heir and possibly the original series as well.

I really didn't fancy Eadlyn's character much. And, I was disappointed when she choose her partner at the end of the book. I loved the Selection series and still totally rooting for them. However, this book is still a good read.
