That's a very hard question. I don't have a sister so It's hard for me to volunteer for her. But at the same time, I wouldn't be able to see my little sister get killed. The heart that Katnis has for her family, is incredible and she has the courage too. If I was her, I would of done the same! I would of volunteered. Family comes first!

Since I have a little sister I can honestly understand the pressure on Katniss' shoulders. Would I risk my own life. . .? I would honestly chicken out and not know what to do till it was too late but I would try my hardest to go in place of my little sister as Katniss does.

Personally, I would have wanted to volunteer whether or not I was related to the person. Especially being that Prim was so young. I don't think I would've slept with ease knowing what I'd sent her off for when I could have just volunteered myself.

Absolutely! I have many younger sisters, and imagining any of them in Prim's place sends shivers down my spine. Especially with how young she is. I would do it in a heartbeat.

I probably would volunteer, even though I know I wouldn't last very long. I may not be a fighter like Katniss, but I would still want to protect my family (since, like her, I'm the oldest).

The Hunger Games was advertised as a book for teens, which I thought was unsuitable. The horrific situations the main character faced were totally inappropriate for young people, even in this century. Having said that, yes I would have volunteered to take my little sister's place for this Herculean task, but only because she was far too young to be selected for this challenge in the first place.

I finished this trilogy last week and was disappointed that it was essentially one story divided into 3 sections in order to charge readers more money. The first section was reasonably well-written and interesting. The second part was sloppy and stretched my imagination almost as far as it would go. The third part was...well, let's just say the author should have quit while she was ahead.

I don't have any sisters but I do have a younger brother and I would have volunteered for him without hesitation. We have always been close and I would do anything for him.

I would definitely volunteer. Just thinking of my sister being chosen would make me feel the guilt of the possibility of her dying. I also know that the survival part would be fun for me because I am an outdoorsy person, but the killing not so much.

I've been thinking about all the situations people are put in, in books like Stephen King and horror novels. It makes me wonder what would happen if I was in that situation. My older sister hated the Hunger Games. On my end, I do not have a younger sister, but I don't know if I could volunteer for my sister. If it was my husband, I wouldn't volunteer since he has a MUCH better chance of surviving than I would, mentally and physically. Hell, he loves survival situations like that. (Not that he enjoys killing teenagers, but again, this is a what if situation.) If it was a child of mine, or someone younger who I knew could not handle it, I might volunteer. I just hope none of us have to be in that situation in reality.
