I agree with the reviewer. Magic and a murder mystery as an inspector is definitely two genre's I wouldn't mind seeing together! I also like that the reading was easy to follow. This is something I would read. Great review.

This sounds like a good book for my library. I enjoy books for Young Adults and New Adults because they are interesting but easy reads for those times when I need that. The murder mystery/fantasy combination is always an interesting one. I'm anxious to see how the inspector and Julie are able to come to terms and work together. Thank you for your review!

This story has combined the mystery genre with magic which sounds amazing. And, I wonder if the Melton Family affair will tie-up with Inspector Russell Gaines previous cases too.

I love a good murder mystery. Although I'm disappointed that the culprit was easy to figure out. Thank you for your review.

I love that the inspector values his work enough to punish himself for not solving a mystery. I hope he doesn't beat himself up though just because of one failure. I'd love to read this amazing mystery. I love magic and this is just the book i need to read. Congratulations on BOTD!

The serial killer New Age God sounds like a great character and an almost-invincible antagonist. I think Inspector Gaines will have a face-off with this character soon.

I have always liked mystery novels, especially the ones with magic. I believe this book will be an interesting one. However, I don’t like the complex old English. Good one from the author. Congratulations on being the book of the day!

I love investigative books and the plot of this one fascinated me. The main character trying to revive his investigation career was delightful to read. Congrats on BOTD.

I have sampled the novel, and I must say that it is so well-written that I really wanted to read more beyond the scope of the Amazon sample. What I loved most is Russell's approach and attitude towards the New Age God serial killer.
Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

Russell and Julie sound like an interesting pair; I wonder how they get around to working together. I enjoy fantasy, and I'm curious to look through this one.

Young adult fantasy is not a genre I subscribe to, but have in fact just completed reading the book. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this combination of mystery, magic and crime.I have only recently joined and trying to navigate my way around is still a bit of a challenge, however, I'm thoroughly enjoying reading all the professionally written reviews and especially this one.
