This young adult book, involving magical adventures, is definitely a great book. I like it that the book is well written and enjoyable. However, I'm not a fan of this genre. Otherwise, congrats on the BOTD!

Silent Lee lives with her Aunt Generous, as her mother travels for work. One day, though, her mother takes Silent away to live with her cousins because her aunt is sick. After her aunt dies suddenly, Silent faces a life with the cousins, the attic being her bedroom. However, Sie (pronounced like pie) gets a note from her aunt stating that she isn't dead; she's merely being held captive. Sie must investigate. Along the way, she meets a meddlesome boy named Raahi who would like nothing more than to help. Will Sie and Raahi find Aunt Generous?

From the first page, Alex Hiam drew me into Silent Lee and the Adventure of the Side Door Key. This young adult fiction consists of around 120 pages and is a quick read. Some of the vocabulary is advanced, the word exigent for example. However, the book would still be suitable for middle school to high school children, as there is no profanity or adult content.

A very good book for young adults. The names of the characters are interesting. 120 pages is fairly short and I will finish this story. The official review was excellent.

This sounds fascinating. I hope that Silent and Raahi will be able to rescue Aunt Generous. I have added the book to my shelf.

My favourite part of the book is when Sie took it upon herself to investigate and find Aunt generous. Such courage can only be fueled by her love for family. There's something to learn from her.

Great review.

Me too, I think I am lured by the development of characters like Sie. Each of them has a key role in the development of the plot.

While Sie and Raahi going on a quest to save her aunt sounds like an interesting story, I'm more interested in knowing why names like "Silent" and "Generous" are employed here. I hope this is answered in the book.

All I'm wondering now is if Silent's mother had anything to do with Aunt Generous's capture. This sounds like an interesting YA adventure story.
