Soft sci-fi that's heavy on the world building, and character-driven pieces that are heavy on the psychology, with hints of an odd, not-quite-our-world in the background.

When writing, I have the exact same preferences as when reading. I've always liked fantasy and science fiction, especially those stories that focuses on building literary universes while trying to be as "realistic" as possible. Outside of that, I like detective novels and thrillers with action elements. In fact, when writing novels of the first two genres that I mentioned, I prefer to add elements of the last two to make them more "complete".

I tend to write in the genres I enjoy reading. At the moment I’m really into reading romantic suspense and erotic romance. Lol what can I say, I like plenty of heat with my romance.

I have also begun reading regency romance and it’s a new type of romance for me.

I tried to break out into different genres, but it actually distracted me and I lost my passion for writing even though the projects were good and could've been successful. I decided to go back to my roots in fantasy. I write new adult fantasy with focus on the fantasy instead of romance. Kind of like Charmed and Supernatural a bit.

I have a soft spot for sf and fantasy, particularly anything to do with superheroes or fairytales. I also love books about "geeks," mysteries in bookstores, and super-cool wearable tech.

There are many genres I wish I could write properly and the ones I'm actually good at. Like thrillers and action, for example, are too complex for me to write, but perfect for me to read. People always like my romantic books with a slice of life. I believe that you should practice on the genres you enjoy writing most while also mixing it with the genres you're good at writing to find a middle ground.

I love to read fantasy and sci-fy but think I'm better at writing realistic fiction and thrillers.
