Do you write while in nature or sitting by the water?

Some writers attest to a tranuquil environment like nature or a body of water to bring forth inspired ideas. Does anyone have experiences to confirm nature can be an inspiration and aid in expressing ideas?

I've actually gotten a lot of my ideas when I'm taking a shower. Usually, if I am outside I get distracted by things going on around me. Like if I see a wild animal for instance. I will forget what I am doing when I am watching an animal just live its life!

Neither, really. I prefer writing sitting at a comfortable desk and in a comfortable environment. Writing outside is not my cup of tea.

I think writing while surrounded by nature and water is very inspirational to me. I mostly write on peaceful subjects, but even the occasional violent content that might enter seems to be tempered by the peace of nature.

Actually, last year I took my laptop to the seaside to write on the beach, but it was too distracting. However, I prefer to edit my work outside.

I have tried several times to write will sitting in nature. I can never seem to get comfortable enough to get the words going. It always seems like a good idea until I'm trying to scribble words on a tiny notebook balanced on my knee Maybe if I was laying in a hammock or sitting at a table at a park I could get in the zone.

Nature, for sure. It's nice to be relaxed by the sound sounds of nature and be able to connect with the great outdoors.

I write in my house but I enjoy playing nature sounds with the blinds open to feel like I'm outside and/or near water.

Honestly, wherever I am, my environment tends to influence my writing. It's easier to write my more carefree characters when I'm relaxing in my backyard. When I'm working with a character who is more stressed and anxious, I'll do that better when sitting at an overly cluttered desk. I mean... yeah... that's totally why I keep it this messy...

When the weather permits, I accompany my wife while she is whale watching. We normally park at a State Park overlooking the ocean. I get the ocean breeze, sounds of the ocean and sometimes pesky gulls looking for a handout. But the occasion is relaxing and sometimes even inspiring.

I have pulled into state parks often, or the woods on occasion. Then there is also the backyard where I am surrounded by flowers.

I love laying a blanket out on the grass in my garden and writing under the trees. Getting out of my study or bedroom mixes things up a bit and helps to get the creative juices flowing.
