No wonder the author sounded so familiar, I also know of her book Ironbark Hill thanks to Online Book Club. While I am not a romance reader in general, I confess I'm curious about the forbidden affections described in your review. I wish there had been more detail about the romance as that would have helped me in final my decision to read this or not, but I do love that readers get to watch the main character grow up from a child to young woman.

Another superb coming-of-age story from the author! Sounds like an interesting tale of how Jancy manages to find her true self and love. These types of coming-of-age stories are not typically my kind of goto books, but this does sound like an interesting story that I would definitely recommend to a few friends that are bigger fans of these stories.
