The story sounds like an enjoyable read. I like convolutions in plot lines, when well done. I have friends in small English villages whose real lives seem totally implausible but great fun. I'm looking forward to this read! I've added it to my shelf

Wonderful review! you had my attention from the beginning and sold me at "The writing is intelligent and sophisticated without being dense." Looking forward to finding some quiet time today to read this novel that sounds like an amazing journey

Already commented, but I wanted to congratulate the author on the good review!

I like it when characters are sketched well with interesting backstories, and the premise sounds interesting. Thank you! :)

Love your review. Lies do catch up with us sometimes but that's what makes a good story!

Thank you for such a well thought out review. I like the way you pointed out the pros and cons of the book. It sounds like an interesting read despite the problems you mentioned.

I'm not a big romance reader, but I do like stories set in England. Thanks for the detailed and objective review.

I don't think this one is for me, especially given your comment about the lack of cohesion in the plot. However, I'm glad you were able to enjoy it, and thank you for an exemplary review.

Good review. Sounds like it could be set almost anywhere and still be true. I know several people like this unfortunately but their stories aren't neatly tied up in a book. Funny how real life is almost always stranger than fiction.

Ill ethse sound of this.Im not really a romance fan but this sounds intriguing. Based on the sample I read, the writing style is one I like and I might have to give this a try.

What I read from the book, I was totally impressed the wrong way. I felt it was stilted and rather gauche. My impression of Grace was the same as yours, quite slutty. I am glad that you enjoyed the book. You did a nice job on the review.
