I like that despite being the third book in the series, this book can be read as a stand alone. So glad the author does a great job with the character development. I'm curious to find out what the unexpected twists in the story are.

The sample reads like a typical teenage romance, although the review clearly says that things will turn steamy soon enough. I wonder what secrets Jason and his siblings are keeping. They seem to have magical powers that can control fire.

I hope I get to read the rest of the story to know how Melanie and Jason end up.

Thanks for the interesting review. I will be one of the first to admit that I like reading paranormal romance novels, but I don't like it when authors write in underage stuff with teens. This may be a sticking point for me, but I still intend to give this book a chance and see where it goes.

This sounds like a paranormal romance I can get behind. Too often the regular love interest is made to be a damsel in distress or a too perfect character that are known as Mary Sues/Gary Stus. I'm interested to see what the outcome will be.

The unexpected twists and shocking revelations in the novel has got me interested. Even though teenage novels are not my usual favourites, I think I'll give this one a try.

This is an awesome review. The storyline as stated in the review is quite engaging. However, as I wanted to write off the romance I'm glad to know that there are other premises to look up to such as Jordan's secrets and I'm also intrigued by the character development along the storyline.

I like fantasy novels, including YA ones, that have at their center a heroic quest. These one seem to be more focused on teenage life, including underage drinking. Thanks for the review but I think I will pass on this one.

Great review! I like that this book is a stand-alone and I will not have to read the other two books in the Sonar series to understand the history of the characters. You made good points on what you liked about the book and what you did not. I agree that a young adult book that includes sexual content, should also include a discussion on safety and protection. Nonetheless, this sounds like a good book that I would enjoy reading.
Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.

The plot of this book doesn't sound that unique considering there are a lot of paranormal romances. I'm glad to hear you mention unexpected plot twists. I also like the fact that the main character has adequate development and changes from a stereotypical teen to a mature young woman. Great review!

Thank you for reviewing! I think you did a good job of summarizing the book without giving too much away. After reading a few chapters from the beginning of the book, I found myself agreeing with the point you made about conversations between characters feeling flat. Considering this and the fact that the summary itself makes this book seem like almost every other romance novel I've ever heard of, I doubt I'll be picking this one up anytime soon. I'm glad you found elements to enjoy about it, though!
