Hands down: Nicholas Sparks. He has a way to tell a story that makes the reader feel like they are living it, not just reading. His earlier novels are better than the last couple of novels, but that won't stop me from still waiting anxiously for every new release.

I read all types of romances..mostly. I have this thing for historical romances though. My favorite author would be Virginia Henley, not all her books are perfect and after reading one author’s book you get fed up with the story line, but I binge read “Ravished” by Virginia Henley and I was ready to follow her. I can’t say the same for her other books but Ravished is definitely something.

I also like Sherrilyn Kenyon... just don’t read all her series because the storyline is practically the same with very few twist.

I have read thousands of romances, not even exaggerating and these are the two authors who managed to be remembered, that says a lot.

Some favourites are Diana Palmer, Penny Jordan, Sarah Maclean. Used to enjoy Iris Johansen and Sandra Brown.
Have been reading, well...since i could read and there are authors that i loved for the stories they tell, so much more than the chapters that are so very explicit...

Laura Lee wrote: 18 Nov 2019, 19:57 Oh, my goodness! What a great question! I'm going to go through and see what other posts mention authors I enjoy. Hopefully, I can learn about new authors to enjoy by seeing who else they list as a favorite author.

My favorites (although this isn't 100% endorsement of every single book they've ever written) are:

Judith McNaught
Julie Garwood (only her historicals. Her modern characters aren't as well written, IMO.)
Jayne Ann Krentz
Christine Feehan
Maya Banks (KGI series)
Nalini Singh (Guild Hunter series)
Lisa Marie Rice
Gena Showalter
Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb
Thea Harrison (Elder Races series)
Kristen Ashley

i love love love Kristen Ashley, right now I'm doing the 'Honey' series and waiting for her new releases

My favorite authors are Elle Kennedy, LJ Shen, and Margaret Mitchell. Once I pick up a book of theirs, I just can't put it down.

My favorite romance author hands down is Mariana Zapata. She specializes in slow-burn romance and she does it so well! I would read any book she writes, no questions asked. I also really enjoy Annette Marie and Emily Mayer.
