The book cover is so pretty! I am also impressed by the amount of research the author did! It's important not to sugarcoat history and erase the real struggles they faced. Also, I feel like writing on interracial couples can be a little tricky sometimes but it's good to hear that it wasn't particularly offensive for either side. Thanks for the excellent review!

A book about black lives and slaves always make a tough reading for me. Two people completely different from each other and still falling in love with each other is mainstream but considering all the other angles in the book, i guess this will make an interesting piece for someone who doesn't find reading about black lives as hard as i do .
