I enjoyed your research about Ireland. Reading almost five hundred pages without any chapter breaks would be frustrating! I'm glad you enjoyed Anna's story!

I emerged triumphant and enriched. Perhaps this is how a butterfly would feel after leaving its chrysalis. LOL!

It certainly was a unique experience. Anna, both the book and the character, taught me many new things.

I really like the sound of the historical elements of this book. I'm not much into stream of consciousness writing though, so I will skip it. Great review!

It was an interesting, albeit challenging, way to learn about those times in Northern Ireland. Thanks for the kind words.

I grew up in the UK during the Troubles. I can see you learned a lot about the political and religious roots of the conflict. This sounds like a fascinatingly multilayered and complex work. I enjoyed your thorough and insightful review.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

The book was a fascinating experience. Herron made me reflect on many things in my own life. Truly, humans are all different, but alike too in a lot of ways.

I'm not a fan of romance, and I don't usually read historical fiction, so I don't think this book is for me. Great review, though!

I've never heard about the war up until now. I had to go look it up. Romance isn't usually my thing but with the detailed aspects concerning Catholics and nationalists with the Protestants and loyalists in Ireland, I might just consider reading this one. Thanks for your recommendation.
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

I did learn much about the Ireland situation and then some. You will, too!
