Gabriel Garcia for his multilayered plots that always crossed generations.
Premchand for being blunt in his writing. He was not scared of hurting society as he narrated things just as they were, no euphemisms.

Yes! Milan Kundera! Thanks for reminding me. It has been about 20 years since I read "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." What a great book!
