I've barely read Stephen King, but every page sets my imagination of fire. Neil Gaiman is another favorite. His topics are always interesting to me. Ted Dekker is on my list. I find it fascinating how he manages to connect so many books.

I have loved Dickens because of his elavorate description.
Gabriel Garcia for his multilayered plots that always crossed generations.
Premchand for being blunt in his writing. He was not scared of hurting society as he narrated things just as they were, no euphemisms.

Yes! Milan Kundera! Thanks for reminding me. It has been about 20 years since I read "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." What a great book! Now I am inspired to pick him up again in another book!

I can't ever read enough of P. G. Wodehouse, although I didn't discover him until I was an adult. Some of my other favorites (but not all) are Roald Dahl, C.S. Lewis, O Henry, Hemmingway, Agatha Christie, and Lemony Snicket
