I love reading all the posts! I got the same sentiments. I mean, I can't name just one. However, I love reading Paulo Coelho books. His write-ups somehow changed my life. I also love the writing style and storylines of Tess Gerritsen! She's one great author herself. Dan Brown and Neil Gaiman are also in the list hihi. For poetry, I prefer Michael Faudet. Then I won't forget the classic literature authors! :techie-reference:

Right now my favorite author has to be Colleen Hoover. I am really enjoying rom-com genre and what I call 'easy reads'. Her books have good flow, comedy, and romance!

Enid Blyton, for first stoking my passion for reading. Her Secret Seven, Famous Five & The Five Find-Outers series were some of my childhood favourites.

There was a time in my late teens, I discovered John Grisham and I was hooked on the legal courtroom battles presented in his stories. My best friend and I used to compete on who could get and read his books first. I used to win. But, I have drifted away from Grisham in recent years and I have missed some of his books. My best friend wins the competition now. She is still an avid and loyal fan.

Some of my current favourite authors are :
David Baldacci
James Rollins
George R.R. Martin
Stieg Larsson
Jodi Picoult
Jeffrey Archer
Jilly Cooper
Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Jane Austen
Wilbur Smith
Ken Follett
James Patterson

I read any book as long as it has an interesting blurb on the back cover. This has allowed me to discover new authors and genres that I would not have typically thought of.

I guess I would define that as the person(s) whose books I could (and have) read over and over - in which case my favorite authors would be J.K. Rowling, Christopher Paolini and Stella Blakemore.

I like quite a few authors. But if I had to pick one, I will go with Sarah Dessen. One of my favorite line from her works is "Some things don't last forever. But some thing do. Like a good song, or a good book or a good memory."

I happen to enjoy many different genres, so only picking one is quite difficult. My 2 favorites are John Green and Jodi Picoult. They both write young adult fiction, but John Green tends to sway on the side of quirky love whereas Jodi Picoult gears toward real, controversial problems humans experience every day. My favorite John Green novel is Paper Towns and my favorite Jodi Picoult book is a tie between Vanishing Acts or Salem Falls.

My favourite authors would definitely be J K Rowling, Isabel Allende and Giles Tremlett. I think Rowling is a phenomenal fiction author, where as Allende does well to involve elements of fantasy within a non-fiction historical context. Tremlett is a non-fiction author however successfully turns facts into a story which can be followed like a fictional novel.

Ken Follet is my favourite author because I fell in love with the book Pillars of the earth in my teens. I also loved the sequel World without End and Column of Fire.

Cheryl Strayed. My sister gifted me with her book, Wild, and I was in love. When I first read the book it took me three weeks to get around to reading the last chapter because I didn't want the story to end. I also liked her book, tiny beautiful things. I'm guessing she must be a beautiful soul.
