Here are my top picks in no particular order...Liane Moriarity, Kerrelyn Sparks and Jude Deveraux. I have read every book in every series they have all written. I am a huge fan of Charlaine Harris too, but haven't read all of her books, yet! :techie-studyinggray: :techie-studyingbrown: :techie-reference:

Arthur Conan Doyle, Tolkien, Joseph Conrad, Colin Dexter, Val McDermid, Bernard Cornwell, George RR Martin.
I would name Jeffery Deaver, but his work is starting to become formulaic.

Even if he's not my favorite author , William Shakespeare is the only one that never let me down. Through his work he always surprised me, challenged my way of viewing things, and touched my spirit with intense emotion.
I love the theater so I might be impartial.

Tamora Pierce is a fantastic author. If you like fantasy within a great fictional world, her books are for you. All of them take place in the same world and sometimes intertwine. I adore her novels and have been reading them since I was in middle school. Though her books are placed in the YA section, I find them to still be very engaging as an adult. Maybe this is due to growing up with her novels, but I believe anyone who likes fantasy would truly enjoy her writing.

Regina Doman and Marissa Meyer. They both write fractured fairy tales and through reading their stories, I have found many helpful tips to apply to my own books.

I am still working out to decide on which author has never let me down. The authors are distinctly unique and it is almost impossible to look forward to a particular one. This decision will be purely based on feelings!

Karen White is a favorite - I've read 5 or 6 of her books; she never fails to capture me with the story and I appreciate that she weaves a bit of romance into her writings. I continue to go back to her when I'm looking for something more 'light' compared to some books that get into heavy (and maybe depressing) topics.

I'm also a big fan of David Baldacci. Yes, I've read all the Camel Club, John Puller, Will Robie and (love, love, love) King & Maxwell books. They're quick reads and I enjoy the conspiracy genre. I also enjoyed Absolute Power and Total Control. The one that caught me off guard though, and made me into a fan was One Summer - it had me crying by the end of the first chapter.

You know what you're getting going into a Rick Riordan book, so he's my man.

Totally agree with GRRM! He delivers such rich novels, I'm always left satisfied.

Christopher Moore and Leslie Langtry never fail to make me laugh when I need it. Rollins is also great when it comes to a good thriller, though his coauthored series with Rebecca Cantrell started off a little rough.
