My all-time favorites are his short stories, but they are more for adults, not children. Lamb to the Slaughter, The Landlady, and Man From the South are all great!

Both of my girls loved Matilda and James and The Giant Peach.ThankfulMom1 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2016, 09:50 Our family loves Roald Dahl! We bought a set of Roald Dahl books for the girls earlier this year - and have enjoyed all of the stories. The BFG is currently in our nightly rotation, as well as the Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Twits, James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The girls really loved Matilda too.
Dahl's imagination and writing makes reading the books aloud fun for the whole family.
