I would have to say too many are gone that I would want to have a beer with, but Jack London, Hemingway and most definitely in today's world the ever famous Stephen King, especially to discuss why we can't have sequel to the stand! But not to leave out some memorable authors Joyce Carol Oates, Erica Jong and Carson McCullars ...wow I have an idea they would drink! :tiphat:

If I could switch to tea or coffee, this would be my list in order of preference:

1. William Shakespeare -- that way I could find out who he truly was: Christopher Marlowe, etc., or if he truly was someone named William Shakespeare.

2. Author of Beowulf. I'd get more info about the dragon's cave and what sounds for all the world like advanced technology in it.

3. Christine Feehan.

4. Catherine Anderson.

Mary Higgins Clark. She was my favorite author for a long time. She has written so many books, and she seems to be a lovely person.

George R. R. Martin, because I presume "he drinks, and he knows things."
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

David Sedaris!

Every time I read his books or listen to his audiobooks I am both amused and annoyed. He is a very funny author but also a bit of a whine.

I really want to know how David is in real life. Will we have an evening filled with laughs and shared hysterical stories or will I pour my beer over his head and leave in 30 minutes? WHo knows, I'd love to know :D

Brandon Sanderson without a doubt. I've heard one of his interviews and after reading all the Mistborn saga, would love to have a chat with him. Would not mind him ranting on and on about theology.

I would love to have a drink with Amanda M Lee. I've read all of her series & adore them. She's extremely snarky & fun. I'm currently working on her Lily Harper Hart books.

I would love to have lunch with Karen Kingsbury. I have seen her in person and she seems very nice and down to earth. I would love to share the love of writing that she has as well as enjoy speaking with her as to the impact that her books have had on myself and others that I know have read her Baxter family series. She makes the characters seems as part of your own family.

Maya Angelou would be another fabulous author to meet and have lunch with. I feel as though her books are much more thoughtful than some books are and that the meanings run deep in her soul for the writing that she does.

George Orwell. It would be really interesting to hear about his views on the current political structures or his critics on how the technology has been modifying our routines.
