Re: Anyone guilty of not remembering authors?

Many times that I am reading several books at one time, I find that I can have a hard time remembering just which author has written which book. I find that the authors that I truly enjoy I can remember but if I begin to read a book and cant finish it, I just can't seem to remember the author.

Same problem here! Once you get used to a particular author's style/voice it's easy to remember them. The titles of each book are sometimes difficult to remember.

Books, films, directors, what's in the fridge. It's all a mystery to me. It's frustrating not remembering names during conversations, but on the flip side, I rediscover things daily and makes life seem pretty amazing.

I have a few favorites that I can remember easily but I really struggle remembering the titles, even of my favorites🙄 I have been trying to make it a point to pay attention to the Authors name and the book title more often and it has helped.

I definitely am! I follow certain authors and read multiple books of theirs. If it's an author of which I've only read one book, there's a low chance I'll remember their name

Yup! Most of the time. I know that’s not right, but I don’t know why I can’t remember few authors’ names. I sometimes write down the book with its author’s name so that I don’t forget.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. I rarely remember authors of the books I read. Maybe I should work on this.

Totally. Ok no one judge me but right now I can't seem to remember who wrote Nancy Drew. Like Nancy Drew was the series that i grew up reading and i can't seem to remember who wrote the wonderful series. I'm Just so ashamed of myself.

Nope. When I go looking for books the authors names I do not pay much attention to. The only time I do is when I look it the next book in their series and then having to hunt it down later in the bookstore.

I don't remember the names of any authors. Unless I read all their books.

You are not alone in this, Zeal16. LMAO. I often forget authors' names. As much as I read many books, sometimes it's embarrassing that you're talking to someone and you can't remember the author you want to mention.

I have to admit that I also sometimes forget the authors of the books I am reading or have read. I remember the title of the book. I think my memory is not the best. If I am very fond of an author and have read several of his/her books, then I won't forget the name as I would have specially purchased the book because I enjoy the author's work.

I know what you mean. Even if a book is fantastic, I don't have the energy or will to read another book by the same author. So unless I see the same book or a familiar cover, I'll probably forget that author forever.
