I've always liked Wolverine and Deadpool too. Deadpool is funny beyond anything.
We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings - Doctor Manhattan.

There are probably others I could think of, but the first one that comes to mind is Mark Twain. He was just so witty!

If you are planning on re-animating a dead author, it seems only fair to choose Mary Shelley

I agree with V .C.Andrews. it's amazing that so many of her books were written after she had died. She must have left so many outlines and ideas at the time of her death.

It would be JRR Tolkien so he could create more worlds for us to explore.

I would love more books by Michael Crichton. I know he published so many amazing novels but I just want more! And I am surprised every time I remember his involvement with the show ER!

Ursula Le Guin, Terry Pratchett and Tanit Lee died not long ago. They could live a little more.
If I revived some classic writer, it would be difficult for him to adapt in the modern world.

I'd bring back William Goldman. I remember the night I discovered Princess Bride. I was horribly sick, laid up at home, absent from school, just like the kid in the story. My sister looked at me, giggled because she KNEW, and pulled the book out. I was really bored with it at first and begged her to switch to something else, but she only laughed at me and said, "Just wait for it."

At some point, I started begging her to continue. Her voice grew raw and tired, even after drinking water regularly, but she read to me through almost the entire night because I NEEDED to know what would happen next. She didn't stop until we got to the end. We read the entire book in one night. (Ah, a sister's love) I absolutely fell in love with reading that day. After that, I started seeking out books for myself without her, but every once in a while she'd try to pique my interest by reading to me. And she was usually right. This was how she got me hooked on Stephen King, Harry Potter, and many, many others.

Oh, and also - I'd revive Jane Austen. I'd love to see what that woman would come up with today, in a world where Elizabeth Bennet would soar.
