VC Andrews. I've still got a bunch of her paperback novels. I cannot bring myself to sell or donate them since she was such a favorite of mine when I was younger.

I was obsessed with Sidney Sheldon novels. I just couldn't put them down.

Mine was AC Doyle. I was so consumed with Sherlock Holmes that time. And also Agatha Christie. I can't remember reading anything else that time!

books+barefeet wrote:I loved Geoffrey Trease (Cue for Treason) until junior year when I discovered Ray Bradbury and loved him until I discovered Jane Austen in senior year. I still like them all and having gone through 4 years of university studying English Lit, I found about a dozen other authors who I love. But, I'll admit it, I still have a soft spot for Jane Austen- it's my comfort reading.
When I want deep- it's Timothy Findley, when I want funny, it's Angela Carter, when I want politically diverse, it's Edna O'Brien, when I want satire- Jonathan Swift. But Jane Austen is still like sinking into a warm bath after a stressful day.
I was also a huge Jane Austen fan in high school. :D

Ellen Hopkins was definitely my favorite author in high school. I found a lot of the books I had to read in high school boring and uninteresting to me. However, I've always found Ellen Hopkins books to be captivating and interesting.

Ever since I was in the ninth grade, I really loved Stephen King! At the suggestion of a teacher for a reading analysis, I read Misery. Would read it again.

I'll go with Shakespeare. That guy was totally twisted upstairs during his time. Every work of art was a hit back to back.

My favorite author in high school was Isabelle Allende. I loved her then and still do, but I prefer her historical fiction.

I used to love Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games' author, simply because I was obsessed with the trilogy. Since I was not an active reader back then, I thought she was the best of the best. Oh, how wrong I was.
