King Lear was my favourite. Simply because the storyline of his favourite daughter Cordelia reminded me of my life. It was quite intense and ironic at the end.

My favorite Play by Shakespeare is "Hamlet". I like it because it is written poetically yet it is a story of romance. It is also written in a style that evokes nostalgia in the emotions of the reader, thus leaving a lasting memory of the novel in the reader's mind.

I've read almost most of all Shakespeare's plays. However, the one that appealed to me most, was "Romeo and Juliet." This fascinating, tragic play, starts out with a lot of dramatic scenes, but slowly merges into one where the "heart and sword" take over the stage, when Romero at a Masquerade party, falls madly in love with Juliet, without "first hand" knowledge that she was the the daughter of his family's arch enemy, which tragically ends in their deaths.

By all means, it is "Romero and Juliet" Is it tragic or drama?

I can't say that I have read a lot of Shakespeare's plays, but of the ones that I have read, I prefer Romeo and Juliet.

I liked the Merchant of Venice. Although I didn't like what happened to that money lender.

I thought about this for a bit, since I really enjoyed two of Shakespeare's plays and ultimately ended up deciding that A Comedy of Errors is my favorite Shakespeare work. It's just chalk full of hilarious moments and I really enjoyed that. A close second, though, is Hamlet. I do really enjoy the story it tells. And honestly, bonus points that Disney turned it into a movie. :'D

My favorite is Macbeth. Macbeth is an interesting character but I prefer Lady Macbeth. I find the idea if the witches placing the thought of murder within Macbeth's head especially interesting, especially from the point of view that if you are told you will do something you are more likely to do it.

I haven't read many of the comedies but my favorite is Twelfth Night.

Romeo and Juliet for sure. Read it first when I was about 15 and loved it; I think it might be why I'm such a sappy person these days 😂

Please may I open a side-alley on this and ask about your LEAST favourite Shakespeare play? For me it has to be 'As You Like It' - though I am prepared to admit it may date way back to having it taught excruciatingly badly at school, perhaps if I saw a really good production of it it might help. Ironically, Rosalind is one of my favourite names!

My favorite Shakespeare play is Much Ado About Nothing. I read it and watched a movie adaption my senior year of high school and I just liked how fun it was. I think it fit well with the trend in literature that was heavily rising then, with the sarcastic witty women protagonists. At least for me that's how it felt.

Romeo and Juliet is my least favourite, probably because it's the most mistreated in films, remaking, having the story flaunted at every occasion.
The Taming Of The Shrew is my favourite, maybe because I see a bit of myself in it :o :D
