Can anyone please clarify what book number Ender in Exile is in the Ender Series?

Some say 1.2, some say 2, some say Book 6???? Mind boggles!

The problem derives from the Fact that after writing the first 4 books of the Ender's Saga, Orson Scott Card started a spinoff, some prequels and more novels set between the original ones (I call them midquels).
