Post Limit

Post by GabbiV »

Hi guys, I'm new here and am really excited to interact with the community! But my enthusiasm could be seen as overkill, so I'm wondering if there should be a post limit? Can someone talk too much? Maybe there should be a rule to only participate in x amount of topics for y amount of time? I just don't want my frequent posting to be seen as spam

There is no such limit, and you can post as much as you like. :tiphat:

It seems there's no limit.

Yeah, did you see how many posts gali has done? It's right under her name. Over 27,000! If there was a limit, she would have reached it! Welcome!

My reviewer score only shows 52 of my 72 posts. Any thought as to why?

Off-topic and short posts don't count.

I generally only type three or four sentences. Guess you are saying I have to have more to say, correct?
Or what is the minimum amount of sentences that is considered too short? Obviously you are saying need more than three or four sentences.
And if I seem to stray off topic sometimes, my apologies!

I believe, by "off-topic" posts, Gali means posts in the forum sections that are considered off-topic, such as the support forums, introductions, etc. For instance, your posts in this forum would not count.

I forgot to say that three to four sentences should be plenty to be counted in the post count.

It seems we're being asked NOT to post sometimes. I had to submit a post three times because the first two tries were blocked with a message saying someone had already posted, so make sure I want to reply. This has happened before. I took the hint and didn't post until one time I continued anyway. I did this time too but feel guilty and wonder if I shouldn't have. I never even considered that a person or topic would have a limit. After all, we're ASKED to post on the BOTD! To try, but then be stopped and asked "what do you think you're doing?!" is unpleasant.

Yes you will get that message at times. What it means is not that a post limit has been reached, but rather it is notifying you that there have been other posts since you began your post. This is a benefit because, if you are following the thread, you might want to read those posts before you submit yours. Just go ahead and click on submit (or whatever the tab reads) after you get that message, and it will go right through.

That isn't what's happening.

The message you're getting is letting you know that someone posted since the page was loaded, just in case that somehow changes what you want to post. :tiphat:

Thank you EvaDar and Gravy! I figured that's what was happening until it stopped me twice...suddenly I wasn't so sure! I can see how it's beneficial.
