What do you think about the love Steve and Roxy had? It is healthy or toxic love?

Post by Syaida_Iwani »

For me, the love between Steve and Roxy was not healthy because they both lack of communication, trust and honesty in their relationship.

There was one time where Steve didn't tell about his works as a police officer and that already gave a crack to their relationship. Both of them seemed to push each other away that leads to more heartbreak.

I can agree that the love they had was not ideal, but I can't say it was toxic. Everything was great between Steve and Roxy, but things got bad when Steve joined the police department. I think they were both fighting their own demons. Roxy was still dealing with the loss of her family and preparing for med school, and Steve was fighting alone against the department.

I think steve wanted the best for Roxy and wanted to protect Roxy. I, however, wouldn't say that i would love to be in a relationship that lacks communication because i feel that wouldn't be right. I also think Roxy truly loved Steve.

I think that it was unhealthy since Steve's sole reason for making some of the choices he made was because he was afraid to lose her and wanted to impress her. While on the other hand Roxy was making no compromises for him. It seemed like a one-sided relationship to me.

I would say toxic because the two of them kept a lot of secrets from each other.

I have always thought about that love, I don't think it's healthy. While reading the book, I saw how distant they were becoming, I guessed that it could end up in cheating, and it did. I felt disgusted when I came to the part where Roxy was caught in bed with Cal. I was really angry.

I believe their love is not healthy. They have communication issues. And when there’s lack of communication and trust in a relationship, it’ll eventually lead to heartbreaks for the both of them

I thing the love between Steve and Roxy was dependent. Steve was holding the broken pieces for Roxy that's why she cheated with Cal. I would say their love was toxic.

I think the love between Roxy and Steve was perfect and healthy from the beginning because they both had a great vision as regards their future. but after Steve decided to join the police for the betterment of his country, things change. I believe such a thing must happen. a real change required sacrifice. I think Steve had to sacrifice his relationship with Roxy for the service of his nation.

Definitely toxic. Hints of blind love was there (when he dropped out of law school to go with Roxy to Ohio). Even Steve's best friend in the end told him that Roxy wasn't good for him. Have you guys ever had that when you were in school? Someone you were so madly in love with that nothing else made sense if they weren't around? Yea, that's toxic.

I think that their love was toxic. Healthy love is founded on trust and honesty which they lacked.

The love between Steve and Roxy was not at all healthy in my opinion. It is very obvious that Steve would do anything for Roxy, even to postpone his dreams. But the minute, Steve leaves their apartment, she gets high and has intercourse with their mutual friend. I think she's lucky Steve loved her so much

I think their love was healthy at the beginning. But it slowly grew toxic. No body should have to be subjected to the things Steve went through because of the love he had for Roxy.

Their live was toxic, case closed. Steve depended too much on Roxy and did whatever he thought would please her. Roxy did not show the same level of commitment to him and that was sad.

Their love was toxic. I can never hope to love a person the way those two lov d each other. At some point, I was screaming that they should just break up and go their seperated ways. So yes, it was toxic.
