As a psychology major, I hate personality tests like Myer-Briggs. I definitely don't advise using them.

They are very necessary and makes you plan early. It also quenches procrastination.

I haven't done it yet, but as soon as I set my mind to it I will definitely do it because it seems to me an invaluable resource.

Marsha JJ wrote: 01 Jul 2022, 18:54 In "Reconfigurement", the author includes helpful information about various assessment tests that can be used to aid in your own career and reconfigurement planning. These are tests like the Myers-Briggs test and others. I have taken the Myers-Briggs test, and found it to be interesting. Have you taken one or more tests like this, and if so, did you find them to be insightful?
I've done them and I enjoy them but I normally don't take then too seriously and forget the results pretty quickly. Perhaps I should pay more attention to them

I haven't taken any of the tests. But I hope to take one so that it will serve as a guide for me in taking any decision that concerns my retirement and career.

Although I enjoyed taking a Myers-Briggs personality test a few times, I didn't find it particularly useful for identifying a line of work that I would enjoy. These can give you some ideas, in my opinion, but I don't believe the outcomes should be taken too seriously.

I haven't taken any of the test yet but reading about them seemed so insightful and will be very helpful to anyone who tries it. I come back to leave another comment as soon as I[*] take the test.

I don't really like personality tests. The results are based on your inputs which might not be entirely true. Also they take a lot of time to complete.

I personally love the idea and recommendation about taking assessments and personality tests. I think most people would gain a great insight about their skills, talents and recommended position or career path. The statistics in the book shows how many people dislike their jobs and are unhappy with their employment. If one takes a test while still in college or even prior to that, they can see what to study and what career path is better suited for them.
