I think it can provide a planning method but applicability will vary from person to person and place to place. As stable carrier, retirement plan will change for people in different countries. Some people wish to live in the moment instead of planning ahead. So to sum it up, it's applicable for US residents but food for thought for readers living in other places.

Some lessons may be useful for those who live in other countries (I think the advice to take career tests is great wherever you live), but I think the book is aimed primarily at a US audience, so it is for people who live there that I would recommend it.

The technical information regarding the financial rules are very specific to the US but there are also many areas covered in a broad sense that can be helpful to anyone outside the US.

I think most of the points made in the book are applicable to my country, the only one I'm not sure would be useful is the chapter about healthcare, since it is free here.

There were definitely some terms that were unique to the US, especially the retirement plans and such. But the general message of lifestyle changes and reconfiguring our mindset towards money and money management can apply to any country in the world. I, for one, got many relevant takeaways from this book even though I do not live in the US.

I did not like the way the author tried to focus everything on the US. However, that is understandable since he lives in the US. I believe Reconfigurement affects all persons from all the countries in the world. The financial advices provided there are rather important to be restricted to America alone.

Retirement policies, social security, pension and employee benefits may differ in other parts of the world but retirement and its planning is something universal as growing old is a fact.

This is where I experienced a disconnect. Many terms were unfamiliar to me, I mean, I've heard them before but I don't really know what they mean. Terms such as 401k. He explained them, but still, they don't apply to where I live.

Yes, it could be applied to non-US readers. Mostly, the lessons might be focused on the US readers but lessons like the pension and the rest can be applied everywhere.

Althought he author primarily focuses on the US, but the tips and lessons can be used world wide with the names of terms changed. the planning and method is applicable to me, just tweak the terms. Overall its a good book to get you started on this road.

The book is written for American residents, but a lot can be learnt from it.
The American reality he mentioned is indeed very different from Nigeria's reality, but I was still able to pick up some advice like career assessment, work values and planning ahead.

Before I read the book I had a shallow understanding of the meaning of reconfigurement and what is involved in it. My mind was only centered on the pension contributions and the retirement package. Little did i know that reconfigurement involves retirement strategies such as life Insurance, Investment options, health care and Wills and gifts. In Zambia, my home country most people die intestate and rarely prepare Wills. The only investment they do is real estate.

I am living outside the US. I think all of the principles can be applied but not all applications are possible in my country. As a freelancer, I am saving part of my income for emergency funds, I have an investment portfolio and I'm planning to buy a heath insurance.

I believe the principles discussed in this book can also be applied to people outside the US. Everywhere, people work and have little knowledge of financial management or preparation for their futures. If they can also apply the strategies in this book, they will have a financial freedom for their future.
