I use a Kindle right now but I think I need to have it fixed because the battery life is draining very easily even when I don't use it. Word of advice though, NEVER EVER get a Nook (not sure if they still sell those anymore though). I have had two Nooks already and the screen was just awful. After a few months of uses, the touch screen doesn't work at all anymore. And because I live overseas, I can't get it fixed anywhere :/

Media365 Reader is the best to me. And on second thought I'd give it to ReadEra.

I've had several Kindles over the years and highly recommend them. The new Oasis has a self-adjusting light setting and you can change the screen shading. It's a little expensive but there are several other models that are reasonably priced.

In my opinion, it's Moon+ Reader, not only is it easy to use but also very effective.

I previously used Aldiko, but now I use Calibre. It's a great app. Plus it has this ability to convert to other formats as well
