I agree. Ebooks shouldn't be free but at least they should be cheaper than paperback and hard backed books. Especially where most (not all) ebooks are by lesser known authors.

Of course, no one can give anything for free so it is too jealous to expect that. But the e-books can get cheaper. there is no limitation on the copies of the books and hence it can also spread across the readers in a different part of the globe o it can be made much cheaper than it is currently.

E-books cannot be made free. of course any author cannot provide his work for free of cost as he has put so much of efforts in writing one. But it can definitely be sold at lower price as it doesnt requires to spend on papers , printing and logistics.

I think that it should be cheaper than physical books, but not free because the author probably put a lot of effort into it.

I think that ebooks should cost as much as the paperback because authors make a living from writing.

I think e-books should be cheaper since they are less convenient to read compared to hard copy books.

"A labourer is worthy of his wages" and this is very true in this case. Authors out in a lot of work and deserve to be paid premium for their hard work

Yeah, definitely. There are so many free apps that one can use to convert a book from text-to-speech without buying an audiobook.

Not free because authors has spent a bunch of there time from there own lives to make that book. So he is bringing you value and you have to give him back something that is valuable and that's how the economy and businesses work.
But cheaper than paper book, yeah I agree with that because the Writer/Author will not spend money on printing it so it has to be cheaper than a paper book. But let's face it at the end of the day Authors are free to put any price tag they want to put. And the readers have the right to not buy it if they don't like the price tag.

I think it should be cheaper. Since Ine production can be simply be copied and sold over and over again. This isn't so for hard copies.
