The author wanted him to be a weak character, His role was too incompetent and that made it pathetic.
I feel it should have been better if he had a complex role.

He was a weakling that couldn't even stand his ground. He was so weak, what he knows is throwing around orders.

I agree with you 100%. The antagonist came off as weak. I was a tad bit disappointed.

I was rather let down because I had hoped for a tougher foe. I thought the opponent lacked sufficient ferocity. I had expected considerably more hostility. Don Lomoche was nothing without his minions.

I'll be honest. That antagonist was weak. I expected more from him. I truly did. I do not know why the author decided to portray him in the light he did.

I would say that the antagonist was weak yet smart. I wish he had shown more strength than just giving people orders on what to do and not do.

I agree, the antagonist lacked the air of danger and imposing presence one would expect from a villain. Not a highlight of the book for me.

In my opinion, the enemy seemed frail and didn't fully engage in the villain game. Maybe this was because the author's main characters tended to be inebriated most of the time.

Ok. Dare I say that they were quite humorous. Watching them display their acts of antagonism was most times funny. From the underlings to the main boss. It was kind of funny

As portrayed in the book Don Lomoche didn't perform well as an antagonist. He was too weak for an antagonist

Since he started using others to fight his battles after the first, I genuinely believe it fit his nature. Although it was all in his head, he believed that he was superior to everyone else. He also found it hard to believe it when he ultimately lost because he never anticipated it would.

Contrary to what was depicted in the book, I believe the antagonists could have been far more formidable and strong.

I believe the antagonists could have been much stronger than they were in the book.
