Karen Keilt went through a lot in the hands of the Brazilian government. I'm certain her story will be helpful in setting a revolution. Even after going through all these she still had the strength to move on. Many people will learn resilience and determination. I'd love to read this book.

Karen Keilt has really gone through a lot. Being imprisoned for an offense you didn't commit must have been heart-wrenching. This is an emotional memoir, but at the same time, it carries a message of hope. Thanks for a great review.

What a sad story! Being in Jail for something u know nothing about. I am curious to know what later happened to Rex. I think I need to know how the author survived. Great review. Congratulations on BOTD.

This book, besides looking gorgeous, presents an interesting life. I'm curious to learn more about what living in Brazil is like (I hope it's not only the bad parts). Congrats on BOTD!

This memoir seems to be filled with heart-wrenching, self-realization moments that I cannot wait to read about. It's unfortunate that the author went to jail for a crime she did not commit.

The author has done a fabulous work by showing the world about the dark side of the dictatorship of Brazil. It was a well written memoir and the review indeed is great giving an insight into what the story really is.

The Parrot's Perch is a memoir by Karen Keilt about her life and experience with Brazilian police in the past. Although I am a fan of the nonfiction genre and it's a recommended book. However, I don't think the strong language and gruesome elements might not suit me. It's interesting to know the hidden ugly truth regarding the Brazilian government. This is a good way to uncover the rotten system in their place. Thanks for the review.

I believe the author is insanely brave to narrate one of the most horrific moments of her life. Sadly I feel that the story may trigger some of my own past trauma. But I'll definitely recommend this book to readers interested in the genre. Congratulations on being listed as Book Of The Day.

The one thing I truly love about reading memoirs is that I admire the strength and the ability of the author to share their journey and what they had to go through. I truly admire the author for sharing this and I find this book to be an exceptional one.

I always appreciate the courage of authors who write about their personal experiences. It's a different level of courage for anyone who has faced horrible things in life to write about this. I'll enjoy reading this book just as I enjoyed reading the review. Congratulations on BOTD

Every memoir comes with a great lesson since they are mostly the author's life experiences. Today's book of the day speaks of the awful experience the author and her husband had, most especially when she had to leave to fend for herself. Congrats to the author on being the #BOTD!
