Your description of the book makes me smile. Being married to someone that is not an American, I can assume some of the things that the author assumed about "the American Dream." Right now we live abroad, but my husband wants to move to the U.S. I'm interested to read this book to see what the author thought. Thanks for your review.
You're welcome. Thanks for sharing.

This book sounds awesome. The author's take on what really qaulifies you as a American is great, and I could share his point of view on this. Definitely something I would read. Thanks for your great review.
Thanks for your comment. :tiphat:

“...his preconceived notions of Americans, including Texans as wealthy oil well owners wearing cowboy boots and hats, who have ‘promiscuous wives with big hair.’”
J. R. Ewing will live forever!
Thank you for your wonderful review and for introducing me to another great book. I’ve added it to my list to read.
I appreciate your comment.

So much can be gleaned from an anecdotal account of someone seeing America for the first time. It gets so much more across than news articles or endless debates about immigration. It sounds like this book gets a very nice message across with humor and candid stories.

I had to admit that I 've never been in America. Though I heard a lot of good things, but never in my plan to migrate in this country. You're correct, what USA is trying portrait is being into a more positive state of mind. That's all we need. And war is not an option. But a PEACE! Thanks for the wonderful review!
