I believe healthcare is a necessity and a right for every person. On the other hand however, it is important to understand that healthcare should not be forced on persons as persons have the free will to reject healthcare for themselves.

If healthcare could be classified as a choice - then it would mean that we have the option to be concerned about it or never even to think about it. Think of a society that does not concern itself with healthcare. I guess it would be full of 'sick people.' I agree with the author that healthcare is a necessity and never a choice.

I agree with her. The world is full of disease and unexpected accidents. I believe every person requires medical attention at least once in their live. It is a necessity.

Healthcare definitely should be a necessity. Health is a fundamental aspect of leading a comfortable and peaceful life. It's not a luxury that only a fraction of the world population should have access to. When we ask if it's a choice, it doesn't apply to the millions of underprivileged people who are given no choice at all. A large part of the world population still does not have access to basic healthcare. And it's a hard truth that healthcare is expensive. It's being commercialised and like everything else in this world, it is only available to people who can afford it. It shouldn't be that way. Healthcare should be a necessity and it must be provided to everyone, regardless of their financial ability.

I agree with the author; both medicine and healthcare have become essential for humans. I think that especially now during the pandemic we're all realizing just how important accessible healthcare is for everyone, and that is just under this very paricular circumstance, but in general there are many situations where healthcare is more than necessary.

I agree with the author that health care is a necessity, but also it is a choice depending on the individual. Although we can never really tell when something will affect our health but having that insurance serves as a safeguard. The truth is that not everyone can afford health care insurance so we have to put that in mind.

I totally do agree. In this day and age, we start right from birth with natal health. There's an adage that goes 'health is wealth'. So, yes, healthcare is a need, not a want.

Life is a precious gift, so healthcare is a necessity. People only have a choice to decide whether or not they want care. But since humans are naturally narcissistic, we all want good health.

I definitely agree with the author. Healthcare is a necessity because at one point in life, everyone is bound to need health insurance. No matter how much you try to live a healthy life you may even end up with unpredicted chronic illnesses. You can even be involved in a tragic accident that may result in long term health issues so its safer to have health insurance.

cd20 wrote: 05 Jun 2021, 16:14 The author states, "We should be able to agree that everyone during his or her life will require some form of medical care. Given this, it is not a choice, but honestly a necessity for all (p79)." Do you agree or disagree with this?
I think a very small portion of people lives their lifetime without needing any medical interferance. We all suffer from physical weaknesses. I agree with the statement.

I definitely think that healthcare is a necessity. Health is one of the most important factors of our lives and to not have proper care available just isn't right. I think everyone is in need of healthcare at least once in their life.

I agree with the author. Healthcare is a must, and the necessity for good health care is only increasing. It is definitely not optional. One never know what ailment with strike them that required specialized medical care.

With the present conditions, healthcare is more of a necessity. But the sad thing is that most people can't afford it. There are many countries where even food and water is sparse. So, I can't even imagine healthcare. People all over the world need to take action to ensure that the needy people have access to it too.

Like all types of insurance, you never really appreciate how important it is until you need it! And not having it can be costly and disastrous in the long term. Certainly, the older we get the more of a necessity it becomes as one of those non-negotiable expenses to factor into a monthly budget.
