One has a hard time deciding what to do here. The books are both masterpieces and I enjoy them very much. Because I am naive and romantic at the same time, it would only be natural for me to choose Pride and Prejudice. A wonderful book, but there are also a lot of tears in Jane Eyre.

I love Pride and Prejudice more than Jane Eyre. It is more appealing to me than Jane Eyre. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are more relatable than anyone else to me. The writing of this book makes it more interesting to read. It's just an absolute love😍😍

I personally prefer Pride and Prejudice, but Jane Eyre is a good story as well. I think I lean more towards Jane Austen books in general when it comes to classics.

Personally, I feel that Pride & Prejudice surpasses Jane Eyre by a landslide. Pride & Prejudice is one of those books that I can read over and over again. Jane Eyre is a much darker novel, so it can really affect the reader emotionally. Therefore, I have to be in a certain mood to want to read Jane Eyre. I have both books, but if I have to pick one to read, Pride & Prejudice will win almost every time.

I think this comparison is an insult to pride and prejudices. Pride and Prejudice is a rare gem.

This thread makes me want to re-read both books. I am a P&P fan (the novel and the many many movies made based on the story), and haven't read Jane Eyre in a long time. CHALLENGE!!

Pride and Prejudice will have my vote. The romance between Darcy and Elizabeth is adorable and giggle worthy. Jane Austen did amazing work with Darcy's character development.

Pride and Prejudice is way above this book. There shouldn't be a comparison. Jane Eyre is good but not close to Pride and Prejudice.

For me, to be honest, Jane Eyre seemed a bit boring. I loved the attitude the lovers had towards each other, being very humble and respecting each others space. But I was left dissapointed in the end as I was expecting something more original. As for Pride and Prejiduce, it is a very sweet story for me and I love it with all my heart.

Jane Eyre is very much the story of a quest to be loved. Jane searches, not just for romantic love, but also for a sense of being valued, of belonging. Jane must have the freedom to think and feel, and she seeks out other independent-minded people as the loving family she craves.
Overall, Jane Eyre was praised because of its originality, freedom of thought and expression, and Brontë's skill. Reviewers criticized Jane Eyre for its unconventionalism, immorality, passionate exchanges, anti-authoritative and anti-Christian tendencies, and improbabilities within the storyline.

It really depends on the mood I think. But overall I think I do prefer Pride & Prejudice because it is just so funny and lighthearted.
