A Circuit Rider's Wife by Corra Harris

Post by almhere »

Corra Harris provides a glimpse into life in the late 1800s from the perspective of the wife of an itinerant Methodist minister. Religious life in the northern Georgia, southern Tennessee mountains may resemble modern services in a few ways, but not in many others. The descriptions of the people and daily life are well done. Hints of the changes to religion that fostered what we have today peak out through the narrative.
