Such a wonderful review of an even more fascinating book. This sounds like a tight race for Samuel who must be possessing some supernatural powers too. Thanks for the review.

I'm a fan of The Avengers and X-men, so I'll definitely give this book a try. Great review!

It is intriguing that Joel Knox's hero in Altered Reality, James, has a mutant-like condition of having another creature inside of him. And as Vicki Noel's review states, James is in control of his monster, his Alter, knowing when to unleash him, just like how the Incredible Hulk has mastered his other persona and not like Jeckyll and Hyde who are in conflict. James is among the few extraordinary men of the world, with powerful abilities and it's not surprising that a moneyed group seeks to gain control of, and exploit them. James appears to be the leader who will resist this evil plan and make sure teen mutant Samuel, who possesses vast powers that can either destroy or save the world, is brought to the side of good. This is a solid plot, but how will this book step out of the shadows of superhero and X-men movies? These are behemoths of pop culture. Hopefully, Altered Reality surprises in a way that it can stand apart and cast its own shadow in the genre.
