While I love nothing more than a great mystery, I'm not too keen on the romantic aspects, so I'm kind of on the fence here, but probably leaning more towards reading it. Thanks for the introduction and giving me food for thought.

And to answer your initial question, even though I don't WANT anyone to have to die, I imagine I'd dance the boogaloo if I found out I was inheriting money, an estate, or whatever, from ANYone, whether I knew them or not, ha ha ha.

The romance seems too cliche for my taste, so I still don't know whether I should start this book or pass. Nonetheless, this was an excellent review and taught me so much about the plot!

The characters in this book seem really well fleshed out. Just from your review, I feel like I know them. Although that's due to your fantastic review - not the author's words I love good banter between characters that seems natural and unforced. It makes characters really come to life in our minds.

I love a suspenseful mystery with a hint of romance involving family secrets, betrayal, and murder so I'll read this book. I admire your honesty in these lines:

I found myself rooting for their budding romance, despite the cliched knight in shining armor references because Roxanne didn’t behave like a damsel in distress. To the contrary, her character is fiercely independent and headstrong. At the same time, I found Callahan’s sensitivity to provide exactly what Roxanne needed be it a hot meal, car towing or a place to sleep within hours of meeting her a tad unrealistic.
