Your detailed review makes me very interested in reading The Expansion even though it's not my usual genre. Thanks for reviewing.

I really hate when endings leave you unsatisfied and craving for more. But, still wow! Sounds like a good read to enjoy real life scenarios with some useful stuff to learn about engineering, I hope.

I am most positive, even more so now, after reading your most delectable review that this book will not gather dust on my must read shelf for long!

You truly have drawn me to the epicentre of this novel, enticingly so, I must proceed in my quest to get started.

This review has worked its magic and I am intrigued as to the outcome :techie-reference:

I take my hat off to you, a truly masterful review! :tiphat:

Perhaps the author's ending has successfully achieved its purpose...how better to remember a tale than to leave the reader with an aftertaste that yearns for more?

I was waiting for another part the ending was hanging but maybe it has it's purpose for trill. still the whole piece is nice. And it tackles reality making me read it from the first to the last

The Expansion by Christopher Martin

I read the entire book even though I almost gave up on it. There was something about the scene description that made me keep on reading. Then the characters...I was beginning to wonder when Max and Sara were going to be wed, and surprise! Max is on his way to tell Sara's father that he was turning down his offer to work with him so that he could follow his dream of working on the Panama Canal expansion. Yes, that certainly ended the family connection there with a swift kick-out-the-door and don't come back attitude.
The recognition and fame Max got when his team won the lowest bid was amazing but the sinister "going on" with the bid process and after was another surprise.
I read every page and I didn't know what a "cliff-hanger" was until I finished the book wanting more.

The story doesn't seem intriguing to me. I probably won't read it. Great review. :tiphat:

As someone who has recently read this, I do agree that it ended in an abrupt and dissatisfying way. I am a romantic at heart and the ending held very little romance. I felt that it didn't keep with the characters' personalities all that well either. Thanks for the insight!

This was a great review, but I am so over all these blocks turning into Siri’s. This sounded like a great book, but don’t want to be dragged into another serious I have so many of those already. So the fact that the end of the cliffhanger makes this melon void for me it was still a great review though! :(

Though the conclusion appears unsatisfying, the story is tremendously motivating.

Your review was detailed enough to tell me that this isn't my type of book, although I don't mind thrillers. Ending with a cliffhanger? That'd leave me annoyed.
