Love and true friendship in a magical world full of power-hungry and backstabbing witches and vampires skyrocket my interest. Your summary seems promising. Generally, I enjoyed reading your review. Thank you.

Hmmm. I'm kind of torn... On the one hand, I LOVE stories with witchcraft and supernatural creatures and devil(ish) people, but I'm just not sure about the plot, here. From good girl to evil girl? That certainly sounds like an interesting path - and no surprise that a man was involved! *lol* - but I'm not sure I want to go on that journey. Guess I'll see how I feel after finishing the sample... In any case, great job on the review; thanks for the intro.

I just "bought" this book from amazon and i am so ready to read it. I love anything that is Fantasy based, because it lets you forget about reality for a bit. Of course, she falls in love with some vampire dude. Literally, every single love story. I want to read this book so bad and then post a review of my own.

it appears like the author wants to highlight inherent goodness within the Eve that makes her to resist use of power even when she was pressurized by her parents. The concept sounds good

This is exactly the type of books I love to read! Fantasy, vampires and witches, in depth worlds, character development through life trials, and dark undertones. Thank you for the review, and I will definitely be checking out this series!

This sounds very good. When you read a book and the vampire character is the nice one, I can only imagine how dark the book is. The abuse Eve faced sounds cringe worthy. I am already feeling sad and sorry her by just reading this review. This book sounds very interesting but I'm not sure I want to read something this dark.

This sounds like a pretty interesting and engaging book that will keep the reader's attention till the end of the book. Unfortunately there has always been, are now, and, I believe, will be in the future those power hungry people who will do anything to gain this power or use it for their benefit. Even Eve at some point succumbed to that dark desire. I'm a little bit wary about the detailed scenes of abuse but I'll give it a try. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Thank you for your review! Even though the graphic nature of this book seems off-putting, it sounds like an integral part of the book. I will be reading this book very very soon! :techie-studyingbrown:

I do tend to like the fantasy/paranormal genre, and a helping of mystery or suspense is an added bonus. But I am uncertain about the graphic abuse. The "dark" part of the description gives me pause. Thanks for the review.

This was very informative, thank you! I look forward to reading it now - it sounds like it's right up my alley. I'm curious to see how dark I find it - one of my favorite authors is Karin Slaughter and she gets pretty morbid sometimes!

I wonder if someone can torture a girl with superpowers. I think I should read this book to understand it. But, horror and crime don't suit me.

This is a refreshing take on a magic-beings story. Someone with powers who does NOT want to use them! From your description, the character development does seem very strong. Even in real life , paths that at one time seemed clear, change. I'm not surprised that the main character was eventually drawn towards a darker path. I am looking forward to reading the story. Great review!

I cannot wait to start this book! I do love books about vampires and witches that actually go beyond their obvious tendencies.
