Amy Luman wrote: 21 Aug 2021, 15:33 I’ll have to skip this one. I feel that any sort of love story is unnecessary in this type of novel. I know that it’s usually unavoidable, but when I know it’s there before I start I usually won’t bother.
I understand that! This love story wasn't one of the 'sappy' ones, thank goodness! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Initially, I had felt that the love story may affect the entire thriller. I'm still going to read anyway. As you said, it's not one of these sappy love stories!

This sounds like a thrilling murder mystery. I always appreciate strong, assertive female characters, and Maxie fits the bill. I would also be interested to see how the romantic element plays out, though I have a guess.

Thank you for another great review!

Your review made me think I might enjoy this book somewhat. Sometimes I like a love story in a murder mystery but mostly I prefer to not have one. I would like to see how I feel about this one! Great review, I feel like I know what I’ll be getting into reading this one!

The romance is there, but it is not the primary focus of the story. It just kind of slowly develops as a secondary interest. The murder and the 'who-done-it' are the exciting part of the book! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
