I found the sample very difficult to understand. There are also A LOT of characters in this book, too many if you ask me. I do love that it's fantasy, there's so much surrounding Connor's life from the death of his mother to living a complicated life as a teenager. There's just too many characters in my opinion, I'll probably have to read more than once to understand the storyline. It seems like a great book. Very intriguing.

I can see Tolkien's influence on the author. The sample was fascinating; I'd like to read the rest of the book.
This book was the BOTD on the day I joined OBC. It's been a wonderful journey. Thanks, Scott and everyone!

To realize that you are a part of a town's mythology and have a roll to play in the prophecies, while attempting to control your own destiny, would be completely mind-blowing.
You've got my attention. I am thoroughly impressed by your review. It is well written and entertaining. You have stirred my curiosity and created a feeling of anticipation that will only be satisfied by immersion into the world of Conor Archer. Well done.
