Ramona wrote:Interesting review! I agree that inconsistencies in a book are definitely confusing. I wonder if the author meant to show a change (a growth or deterioration of some sort) in the characters' personalities and it just didn't wasn't deveoped right to show that. Just wondering...!
This is a good point, and very possible. Often books make it very clear that a character is gradually growing, and maybe it's become such habit that it be that clear that it seems fake when it's not blatant. We don't want our hand held, but when it isn't, it doesn't seem natural. Curse our habits! :D
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Currently reading the book. From what I've read, the suspense is epic and the action scenes are pretty impressive. Its like I'm watching a movie... Lol

Mark of the Remake by Ivan Yamagate is a very dramatic and frightening fantasy. The review is good. Although the main character is only nineteen. He has to find his purpose and it's a part of his birthmark. There is much fighting and battling. The young man Hugor finally discovers himself and the courage to defend his father's legacy.

official review: mark of the remaker by Ian yamagata.
i personally would not book, because steam punk and fantasy should not be together in a novel. this book was made for the younger generation so it will sell very well with them.

Insightful review. Even with the character inconsistencies, it sounds like a book of worth. As origin stories are meant to be thought provoking, this book is definitely one I'm going to read now. Thanks.
