It's a shame that the final bits dragged on. This sounds interesting, but I really can't take the vampire thing seriously. Well-written review!

I would root for time travel being used as a means to wipe out vampirism. They have always been portrayed as evil. It would be interesting to see how this story unfolds. :techie-studyinggray:

I am not a science fiction lover but your detailed review has pricked my interest in this book. There must be something I am missing out in science fiction genres. Great work.

Your review is great! The secret government technology got me, but I don't think a book with vampires, time travel, romance, and Christian overtones is suitable for my preference. All of these themes and topics are on my blacklist when it comes to books. But your review sounds so interesting for the right audience. Thanks for the review!

Well, the aspects this book covers certainly make it appealing to a wide array of readers. Thanks for your thoughtful review. I am adding this to my TBR list.

A fantasy book talking about a clandestine governmental agency, vampires, time travel, and one tough cop sounds interesting. This is a good read for those who like fantasy and science fiction.

I love supernatural books like this!! Thank you for such a wonderful review. I am sad that we don't really ever find out what Hand Bringer means. Doing a little bit of detective work to figure it out might be called for. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I like the way the book has been summarized. I don't usually enjoy vampire stories, but this excellent review has given he a second thought. I'll give this book a try.

Thank you for the content warnings regarding sexual violence. I feel like Christian symbolism kind of goes hand in hand with traditional vampire narratives, so I liked your analysis of the religious component. I don’t think I would like these characters much, and I’m not a fan of long battles, so I’ll likely pass on this one. Great review!

I love books like this I can't wait to read it. I think Hand Bringer sounds like a weird name especially if its not mentioned in the story. Nice review.

The Hand Bringer is not normally a genre I read. However, that said, the plot captured my attention and intrigued me from the first. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen. That alone raised the book in my estimation.

That said, in my opinion, the dialogue often came across as unnecessarily stiff. I think because much of the dialogue was said rather than shown. (I.e., he said/she said, rather than describing an action that accompanied the words.) I think this was due simply to the inexperience of the writer, though, rather than any innate lack of writing ability. The creativity of the plot line made up for this, though. As an author, Christopher Penington has a lot of potential and so does The Hand Bringer. I wanted to keep reading.

Indeed the book seems to have it all; romance, suspense, loyalty, vampirism, and time travel. Thanks for an honest review.
