I tend to agree with the author's viewpoint. In the first place, it is impossible to describe infinity or omnipotence in normal human language as one encounters immediate paradoxes. Secondly, it would be impossible for a finite human mind to comprehend such a being, and difficult to communicate with it. Of course, if God was either he or she, then by simple virtue of being that, he or she would immediately be limited and finate!

i believe God is omniscient. but it's kinda odd that He was shocked about a few things that happened in the Bible. for instance, Adam and Eve sinning against Him. it seemed like He did not see that coming

I strongly believe God is omniscient. Portraying Him as otherwise was one of the things I disliked about the book.

From the beginning of time, God has already been described to be omniscient. Maybe, the author's approach to this is what makes it more of a fiction based on religion than a religious book.

Elvis Best wrote: 27 Jun 2020, 13:19 In the book, I think what the author tried to do was to humanise God. God was portrayed as a being who could also make mistakes. But this goes contrary to our believe that God is omniscient.

It's a different way to look at God, and I think what the author was trying to do was to challenge our former theology about God.
That's a really good point and I think the author's perspective by which he chooses to portray the god is unique.

God is really omniscient no doubt about that. Some things have to happen in the way He wants them to happen for a specific reason.

Well, it might just be that the author is trying to say what he feels considering the anger of God towards His creation. But I believe and I have seen a different occasion where He proof He is omniscient.

I agree,God always knows what all the possibilities and resulting consequences of every human action. I also believe that God is always hoping that man makes choices that are consistent with God's ways, such that when man acts otherwise, God is angry and disappointed.

Quite true, God is all-knowing , otherwise He is not God. What the author tries to portray, does not change this fact about God.

I think the author chose to make him less omniscient for plot, but I works pretty well throughout the story, if you just look at it as another character in a book.

Of cos, God is, and through different encounters in this book, God's omniscience and omnipotence is evidently seen.

I believe God is omniscient. Nothing happens without His knowing and approval.
