The circumstances of his birth were a self-fulfilling prophecy. It negatively impacted him in his formative years and eventually led him down the path he took.

I do not think number or name has an effect on ones personality. How would a baby come into this world knowing nothing not even his name or number of birth choose to the rebellious? I think Cain's choices was due to his immediate environment and what he was exposed to. His family felt he was born out of knowledge and treated him differently. Growing up in such a family had a very negative impact to his personality.

Yes, that's one part of the book i found very amusing I low-key blame how Cain turned out to parenting and maybe his name too and maybe he needed more love.

I belive that the day of his birth has something to do with his destiny. But I do belive that Adam and Eve also manifested that belief in him, even if it was unconsciously and unwillingly. That kind of concern aleays passes down to the children.

I can't tell though. But I don't think can being the thirteenth child is the reason behind his rebellion, I think it is his name.

First of all, the Bible didn't mention Cain's,place in the family. So, I don't think the circumstances of his birth was responsible for anything. The day Adam and Eve ate the fruit, evil entered the heart of man and it was inevitable. As we all see in the world today, not everyone turns out as we expect.

I agree with you, This particular part piqued my interest can't lie, but the family though, they shouldn't have made it seem like a big deal or make him feel like the unlucky one.

This was one part of this book I felt the author over exaggerated a lot. I do not think it is possible to Cain a son and i do not think a person's name or the situation surrounding a persons birth affects his/her personality.

I do not believe the number order in which Cain was born has anything to do with how he developed into a sinful man. I believe that what cause Cain to sin was him following the desires of his heart, which were sinful. This could perhaps be the fault of everyone knowing of the circumstances of his birth, which led to him being very cynical and law oriented rather than being able to place faith in God, who he could not see. I think if he was not named Cain then he would not have changed, the story would have played out the same because the name was not the problem. The problem was Cain stating his name was the problem.

To put it simply it was Cain blaming every other person and circumstance for his sins and not understanding that he needed to take responsibility for his sins. So it did not matter if his name was not Cain, he would have found something else to blame because he refused to turn to God and ask for forgiveness of his sins.

It's only people that are not mentally strong that will think in that manner. Yes, ones name and family and the circumstances surrounding your birth is important, but allowing it to define you is a sign of weakness.

The concept of caining a son seems a little bit far and weird but then it could have been true but that's not an excuse for rebellion.

I do not think Cain's name was a determining factor in his rebellious nature.

I feel the author developed this concept just from checking the meaning of "Cain"
