Particular Bible verses to help you (from the book)?

Post by hlemeric »

I liked how the book provided specific Bible verses to help with whatever crisis/issue was being discussed at the beginning of each chapter. Have any of you found a verse that has helped you during a crisis, or possibly found inspiration from the verses provided to use in your life?

I loved that part of the book too. I think there are many great Bible verses out there but I usually when in crisis just talk to God with my own little words. That is not to say that I don't love Psalm 23 very much. Beacuse I do.

I like all of the verses the author used in the book. I have found a scripture that helped me through a crisis, Psalm 91. I used to fear everything, but especially being alone at night. I knew I had to conquer that fear because I WAS alone every night since my spouse traveled! One night I was praying to ask God to give me something to help me with my fear and I turned my Bible to Psalm 91 and claimed it and have not been afraid since. That was over 30 years ago! I thought the stories were all great and the Bible verses fit so well with what was being conveyed in the book.

I particularly connected with the following verse:

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

I find this to be very uplifting; when we are feeling lost in life , it is comforting knowing that we are not alone.

A verse I really like is this one:
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

A very popular one is also Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

I like that the author included the verses and a prayer at the end of each section to help the reader.

I love that verse! I enjoy reading any and all of the Psalms. When I pay close attention to them as I read, it seems God always gives me something special out of every verse!

I have always appreciated that Jesus didn't waste time praying elaborate prayers. He saw the need and solved the problem. An example is when he prayed for Lazarus to come out of the grave. He said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me." When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out." The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth.

It comforts me to know that I can talk to God the way I would talk to a friend and he will meet me where I am.

The verses used by the author at each point touched me.
I also liked he included prayers at the end of each section.

I must admits, I hardly go through my bible whenever am praying to God.instead, I talk to God in my own words instead of in his own words.one thing that the author really helped me with is the usage of bible verses to confront our situations.

The author did well by adding prayer points and verses after each section. This will help the reader to see that every situation has a verse that addresses it.

I loved reading your answers. So many beautiful verses. I also love the most simple prayer Our Father. It is a prayer that Jesus thought us and sometimes I just go to basic.

I do that at times too. It helps me just to rewind and review my day or my thoughts.

I read Phillipians 4:13 in the Berean Literal Bible.
I have strength for all things in the One strengthening me.
To me it means God will walk with me and give me strength for every struggle.
